...
We ended up giggling for ten straight minutes at our incredible City of Heroes geektitude, and ended up going into how people at age/level 20 get stamina, but when you hit 45 there's a mandatory respec that makes you lose it, etc...

I have a lvl 50 MA/SR pvp scrap and heard of making powers perma, i want to make elude perma but im not sure on some things. i have it six slotted with 5 defencebuff's and 1 recharge redux. but im not sure if i really need the 5 buffs on elude. i have body mastery because of how much END i suck in a small amount of time.
I have the fighting pool power for the extra attack and the extra shield's.
but im wondering if i should trade the fighting pool in for the fitness pool power set, so i have the END redux powers and the extra health power.
Now i ask you good people to help me out on this choice sense it makes it easyer. so pls if you will be so kind to tell me what i should do. and also how i could make elude perma.

I woke up today smelling burnt plastic in the bedroom and worrying that the ceiling fan was having electrical problems, but there was nothing. I was just smelling phantom burnt plastic - for half an hour.
Now all I can smell is incense. I haven't burnt incense in probably 3 months.
Burnt plastic, burnt incense....hopefully burnt toast isn't next...

Giddily, I whipped out my credit card, which, because I'm poor, only has a balance of $52 on it, so I could order the new Mark Ryden (and Marion Peck) storybook "Sweet Wishes", which corresponds with their short film of the same title.
The book is $20.
They want another $20 to ship it to fucking Canada.
This brings the total to "too much monies" for a poor person to spend on a stupid storybook and that makes me very very sad.

If anyone has a hero on Triumph about to run the Independence Port safeguard mission, my scrapper Crimson Poinard would like to exemplar along. Turns out it's the ONLY safeguard exploration badge he missed, and I'm not sure how I managed to do that given I ran the thing twice when I was in range.

OK, I have decided with my now leveled up level 40 hero to do some changes again to her enhancments.
My main one looking at using Mids is put in a few IO sets. Where I can of course. Some powers I notice I haven't got enough slots to put IO sets in so I decided to not to bother but then I thought that since I'll be using a respec to sell the level 30 IOs I might as well do some slot shuffling at the same time.
This way I can beef up a few attacks, get the bonuses, make some inf and generally round up my toon.
I have a respec and I have a lot of inf already but I can see that buying IO sets will be costly including buying the salvage.
So is my idea a newbie mistake or shall I plough on with it?

So has that 'toon rearranging' bug got you down? Where every time you visit a server your toons have either completely changed their order, or just revert to the order of creation?
For whatever reason, the game is corrupting the playerslot.txt file whenever you modify it by rearranging your toon's order in the server list. The corruption is the addition of a string of nonsensical characters to your file, and continues to add them each time you modify the file by rearranging toons.
There is a fix! You can manually modify this text file and then set it to 'Read Only.' The game then cannot modify or corrupt your text file and your toons will remain the order you wish them to be. [Read Only: Right click the text file and click on Properties. At the bottom, above the OK/Cancel/Apply buttons there is a checkbox for Read Only. Check it, click apply/ok and you're set.]
Also, if you've had trouble lately with the game crashing when you quickly switch servers and toons, this fix should help. The game flips out when it's trying to make sense of all the gobbledygook and you don't give it much of a chance by switching quickly, so it crashes. If you don't want to mess with the text file, you can prevent this crash by just giving the game a breath or two between switches.
You can find the playerslot.txt file in the account name folder of your city of heroes directory. Example:
C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\accountname\playerslot.txt
Before you go changing that file, however, you may wish to make a copy and rename it for backup. You can either add to the file (playerslot_2a.txt) or change the extension (playerslot.bak).
The basic formula is this:
"account name" "Server" "toon name" "order number"
Where the "order" numbers are 0-35 on each server, with 0 being the top slot on the first column and 35 being the bottom slot on the third column. ( the tl:dr examples here )
If you create/transfer a toon later, you'll have to remember to go back and modify the file manually again if you want them in a specific place. Otherwise, the game will automatically just place them in the first avaliable slot each time.

So, got my first 50 this weekend, and I shall be giving into my altitus soon. It's gotta be one of the epics. But my burning question, as a newbie, which one should I choose, Warshade or Peacebringer?
So far I've heard other peoples throughts, PBs are more scrapper/tanker (the ones I've teamed with have been tankers) while WSs are more 'trollers. Some people say they're the same, others say they're different.
What're your thoughts, stories and opinions?

Hi All!
I had a blast on Double XP weekend, being my first one. I only have one hero, and I played him for ten levels. I still don't think he's that strong, even though I completely updated his long-overdue Enhancements. I always had to be side kicked by somebody, or else I wouldn't hit the target at all. Oh well!
I'm not sure what type of Hero I will make next, after I get this guy to Level 50 (ten more to go yay). I was thinking a Defender, but I'm not sure how they are. I think a Gravity controller person is awesome. I was teamed up with one on Saturday and he just kept hurling things at monsters, like pool tables, cabinets, cars, etc. It was great.
Oh here is some info about where I'm located. My chat handle is different from my LJ name, and I'd like to meet people if that's ok :-)
I have my hero on the Liberty server, his name is VectorX, he's an electric blaster. My chat handle comes up as Aryis, so if you are out there let me know ^_^.

On a personal note, I would love to thank the VG for taking me and my brother-in-law in this weekend and helping Miss Omega get her whup-ass on!
I'm looking forward to exploring new frontiers with my own Guardsman, Psion Jr. But that doesn't mean your favorite blonde guest star won't make another crossover appearance in the ongoing adventures of the Viridian Guard! :-)

Since I'm not the type person to complain without offering a solution,
here's my suggestion to the DEV's at COH.
Next time, before the Double XP weekend, offer a single FREE character move credit.
That way you can move your character off a busy server anytime the weekend before double-XP weekend.
Then after double-XP weekend you'd have to pay $$$ to move your character back to your usual server and thus NCSoft makes money off the deal.
Everybody wins.

I bid on a stack of recipes. I checked on the status hours later. I lost all the bids, but the sale history showed some sales at my price followed by sales at lower prices. I shrugged and said, whatever. These were only recipes for common IOs, and it was 2XP weekend. (Note: if WW were working properly, it is still easily possible I would have lost out to other bidding at my price or higher. The thing is, there should have been no sales at prices lower than my bids.)
But it occurs to me that if this was not simply a result of 2XP, and for example could affect bids on pricey recipes, this could be quite annoying.
Did I do wrong to not /bug it? On the other hand, perhaps others already reported it.

| Thoughts on duoing Jurassik |

Yes, you read that right. I'm insane and trying to duo Jurassik. a 38 D3 and a 38 Claws/regen versus a 40 Monster Jurassik at the end of the Numina TF. Here is my suggested battle plan:
Take a trip to Warburg for two full complements of Nukes (One set for each of us)
Take a trip to Bloody Bay for a fresh Shivan Shard apiece.
Return to Jurassik, clear the map but him normally.
Summon Shivans, Dark Servant.
Throw 1 Bio nuke buff on assembled team.
TP Fluffy into aggro range of Jurassik
Throw 1 Chem Nuke at Big J.
Unleash full complement of Dark debuffs.
Throw 1 EMP Nuke
Send in scrapper
Keep Scrapper alive, watch for nukes to wear off/shivans to time out or die.
Repeat as allowed/until dead.
Thoughts?
